Their shared card is referred to in collector's circles as the "Bong Puffer" Card. Nice one Topps.
I actually had heard of Jung Bong before I ever heard of this card. He played in MLB from 2002-2006 with both the Braves and Reds as a RP, but sadly a 5.17 career era doomed him and now he's playing in Korea. I remember finding him in a version of All Star Baseball and immediately making him a starter (he was actually more of a Long Reliever) because he had a funny name. But opposing players kept getting hits off Bong, and he was just as bad in real life. Too bad, because seeing Bong on the back of a player's jersey is a pretty hilarious thing.
Brandon Puffer has a pretty innocent name if not for his connection with the Bong Puffer card, but he's not all that innocent actually. Aside from 4 years in the Majors with the Astros, Padres, and Giants, he also has a criminal rap. In September of 2008, Brandon "Duane" Puffer assaulted a woman in a home that he intended the burgle. He tried to flee but the cops found him on foot, so now Puffer faces up to 99 years in jail and up to a $10,000 dollar fine. Looks like spending too much time with Bong got Puffer in some trouble.
