Great Name Combinations in History - Johnny Dingle and Scooter Berry

If there's a better sideline photo in existence, I want to see it. Because I think it's pretty hard to top this excellent photo from a 2007 game.

This pairing has been covered a lot (originally at Mister Irrelevant, which was pointed out by Awful Announcing, but later here, here, and in video here), but no one covered the futures of these dudes, which made me curious. So here's what I got, if you readers are interested:

Johnny Dingle (DE/DT): The elder statesmen of Dingle-Berry, Johnny Dingle applied for the draft with one year of college football eligibility still left. Like a lot of guys on the cusp of draftable or not, it was a risk for Dingle, and one that ended up resulting in no one drafting him.

However, the story is not all bad. With this combine, Dingle ended up impressing scouts enough to become one of the most highly sought after undrafted free agents. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs and played with them for the entire 2008 preseason, but was cut thereafter. Dingle is currently an NFL free agent.

Scooter Berry (DT): Scooter Berry is a rising junior/beast in the middle for the West Virginia Mountaineers. According to NFL Draft Scout, Berry was rated 18th of 137 DTs last year on their site, which isn't bad for a guy that isn't expected to be drafted until 2011. He was also recently ranked the 17th best player in the Big East by ESPN, which isn't too shabby either. Lastly, he always looks really badass, even on twitter!
