GSNHOF Nominee - Al Bansavage

Al Bansavage. More like Al BEN SAVAGE! Would Mr. Bansavage be here if not for his name connection with Ben Savage? I guess probably not.

Now I know some of you out there are thinking to yourselves "but isn't this post about Al Bansavage? Shouldn't he get all the glory? Why didn't you mention Ethan Suplee yet?" Well, to you I answer "yes it is, no he shouldn't, and I just did." But for those of you who still cry foul, I present a comparison of Bansavage and Ben Savage highlights:

Al Bansavage played two years in the NFL from 1960 to 1961 with the Chargers and Raiders.
Ben Savage played Corey Matthews for seven years on Boy Meets World, the 1993-2000 cult classic that brought us the acting career of Rider Strong and super babe Danielle "Topanga" Fishel.

Al Bansavage was born in 1938, and is the most famous Bansavage.
Ben Savage was born in 1980, four years after his arguably more famous brother Fred Savage, who was in the Wonder Years (sort of the 1988-1993 version of Boy meets World) as well as 80's classics The Princess Bride and The Wizard.

Al Bansavage played 17 games in his AFL career.
Wonder Years + Boy Meets World = 12 years of my life. And I loved every minute of them.

Is this post fair to Bansavage? No, it probably isn't. Was it a delightful trip down memory lane for yours truly. Yes indeed.

And if you have any problems, you should take them up with Miss Fishel. She's actually pretty jacked.

  1. Great post! I loved Boy Meets World. He reminded me of me and he loved baseball. Topanga was hot. She's gained weight as she's got older, but still hot.
