After a great start at AA Richmond, things have come back down to earth for Tony. His stats just aren't what they were to start the year. A look at his stats at the beginning of the watch and his stats now shows this pretty clearly:
Tony at 9 games: 13 IP, 0.69 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, 3:1 K:BB, 1 Win, 3 Saves.
Tony at 24 games: 37 IP, 3.16 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 3:1 K:BB, 3 Wins, 2 Losses, and 4 Saves.
But that's just a lot of numbers...let's break it down.
Lefties are still KILLING Tony to the tune of a .316 BA, and they've managed to score half of the runs Tony has allowed in many fewer at bats. They also rarely hit groundballs against him, with a GO/AO of 1.13. As for righties, Tony is killing them, as they are hitting a measly .165 off him with 2.65 groundballs for every flyout. Tony's only issue with righties is his control which seems to abandon him at times, as he's served up 10 walks against righties in only 23 innings. He even threw in a run scoring wild pitch in his second to last outing.
Unfortunately, Tony has given up runs in 5 of the last 8 games, But if he can bring the walks down and figure out a way to get to lefties, he should be okay. After all, he's got some great baseball genes in him:
Get back on that horse Tony - the GSNHOF is pulling for you!
